Bio
Aneka Torgrimson was adopted from Hunan, China, and raised in Northern California, where growing up in a predominantly white community inspired her passion for Asian American Studies and social justice. She is currently a fourth-year student at UC Davis, majoring in Asian American Studies with minors in Psychology and Political Science. Aneka’s current undergraduate research explores the identity formation of Chinese female transnational adoptees from the 1990s to the 2020s. She’s excited to be working with the ASA Department again and is passionate about creating spaces to talk about identity and belonging within and beyond the Asian American community.
