Hey everyone, I am excited and look forward to working with the ASA department, and to help shape the make up of the program and curriculum. I am a 4th year student studying Asian American Studies and Community and Regional Development. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, and immigrated to the U.S. as a refugee under the Humanitarian Operation program with his family after the Vietnam War in early 1990. His interest includes Southeast Asian experiences and visibility, Asian Pacific queer rights and issues, refugee experiences, transnationalism and diaspora, pan-ethnic solidarity, issues of globalization and impact on Asian communities abroad, and the intersections of ethnicity, identity, and sexuality. He plans to attend law school and graduate school in Asian American Studies and further work in the community to promote awareness of contemporary API issues.
