Professor Hamamoto obtained his education at CSU Long Beach, Bowling Green State University and
UC Irvine. As part of the ASA faculty, he sees his experience at UC Davis as "the most rewarding
experience in my checkered career in academia." In addition, he perceives the students as bright
self-starters. He believes that the ASA program helps students understand and transform our world
into more of a democracy by raising awareness and issues of the US Empire, white supremacy and class
society. Currently, he is working on many articles and books related to his research. His special
interests include music, film, television, basketball, and gerbil derby.
